this very well composed image is called "eight thousand shades of green" by you, but i think a lot of those shades of green (i know it's not really 8000) have been hidden by the fact that this image is too contrasty, which makes a lot of the greenery disappear in the blacks. another effect of this too high contrast is that the water has no detail in it.
if, after making adjustments, you find the color saturation a bit weak, then you only need to increase it a little.

so, i think that if you were to adjust contrast and maybe brightness, you would have an excellent image.

yes, much better, but you could try this, as i think it still could be much better:
1: lower the contrast too much.
2: adjust brightness until you see good detail in the water, but not so much that it's gray and muddy.
3: increase the contrast again, slowly, until you have a good blend of dark areas WITH some detail in those shadows.
4: tell me when it's done so i can have a look. thanks :-)
